100% cotton fabric (T-shirt, tote bag, etc.)
Rubber bands or string
Plastic table cover or garbage bag (to protect surfaces)
Gloves (to avoid staining hands)
Plastic bag (for setting the dye)

🌀 Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prepare the Fabric
Wash the fabric (do not use fabric softener).
Keep it slightly damp.
Fold or twist the fabric using a desired tie-dye technique:
Spiral: Pinch the center and twist into a swirl.
Crumple: Scrunch the fabric randomly.
Stripes: Fold accordion-style and band in sections.
2. Secure with Rubber Bands
Wrap rubber bands tightly around the fabric to hold the shape. These will create the white lines and patterns.
3. Prepare the Dye
Fill each bottle with water up to the line.
Shake well until the dye powder dissolves completely.
4. Apply the Dye
Wearing gloves, squirt the dye onto each section of fabric.
Apply colors one at a time. Try not to overlap too much to avoid muddy colors.
You can create secondary colors:
Red + Yellow = Orange
Yellow + Blue = Green
Red + Blue = Purple
5. Let the Dye Set
Place the dyed fabric in a plastic bag or wrap in plastic.
Let it sit for 8 -24 hours (or overnight) to allow the dye to bond.
6. Rinse and Wash
Rinse the fabric under cold water (with gloves) until water runs clear.
Remove rubber bands.
Wash separately in cold water with mild detergent.
Air dry or tumble dry on low.
⚠️ Tips for Best Results:
Do not use hot water initially—cold water helps set the dye.
Use 100% cotton or rayon for vivid results.
